Love that Poetry

My Snuggle Buddies

My Snuggle Buddies

These are my two favorite stuffed animals.  Both have significant meaning to me and I have to have them every night to sleep.  It may seem a little juvenile to most people, but they help give me a sense of home and the ones that I love so much.  The brown fox, also know as “Foxy”, was given to me by my fiance Jeff.  It was such a simple surprise he gave me , yet it means so much.  The pink bear was given to me by my dog, Ace.  Well, it was actually given to me by my mom, who just put Ace’s name on the gift, which makes it that much more special.  I adore both of these stuffed animals so much and they are always on my bed for me to see. :-)

My Beautiful Engagement Ring

My Beautiful Engagement Ring

Not many words are needed for this picture, which is of my engagment ring.  I received this on June 26, 2008, which was my 21st birthday.  Jeff proposed to me at my favorite restaurant, with my parents and best friends there, while down on one knee.  We will be getting married on June 5, 2010 and I cannot wait.  This ring signifies the beginning of a new stage in my life, and it doesn’t hurt that it’s gorgeous! :-)
My Cell Phone

My Cell Phone

To many people, this may seem materialistic, but it’s really isn’t.  Being so far away from home most of the time, this is the best way I can constantly communicate with my family.  There is always postal mail, email, etc., but having a cell phone helps to have much better communication.  If I have a moment where I miss home very much, all I have to do is pick up my phone.  It also helps with constant communication between my fiance and I.  It allows me to talk to him seveal times everyday through phone calls and text messages.  It helps to give me a feeling of being at home.

So much depends upon…

My Beautiful Engagement Ring

So much depends upon

my diamond embellished engagement ring

Bright and sparkling

when in the light

A symbol of

our love and committment

and a glimpse into our

our future together. <3

I Wish…

Ace, when he was about 8 weeks old (he was still black and tan)

Ace, when he was about 8 weeks old (he was still black and tan)

I wish my gray and tan Yorkie

who is at home

with my parents,

was here with me instead.

Dana…I love this picture of you and Ace! :-) That poem is just so honest.
Thank you for elaborating on each photograph. I enjoyed reading about each item’s significance. I like the phrase “…embellished engagement ring” from your So Much Depends Upon poem.

    Dana,

I really like all three of your poems. They are so simple, yet the meaning behind each one is so deep. I love them, and they are something you can cherish forever. It really shows that poems are expressions from the heart. Great job!
